Springwood is the biggest village in the lower mountains, and the size shows in the variety of blocks our operators cover — Federation weatherboards close to the shops, mid-century brick homes on the tree-lined streets, and bush-backing properties that fall away toward the gorge on the town’s edges. At 371 metres, Springwood (2777) runs cooler than the Sydney basin — you’ll feel it on a crisp winter morning walking past Braemar House on Macquarie Road, or heading down the Sassafras Gully Track toward Perch Ponds. That elevation buys milder summers but it doesn’t buy safety from bushfire, and a pre-summer mow with a proper leaf-litter clear is something our local operators treat as a standing job for bush-block customers, not an afterthought.
